Work begins onsite

The hoardings are up, and Grosvenor Developments have started preliminary work preparing the old Tyrrell and Green site for the development which will include the New Arts Complex.

Grosvenor started initial site investigation works at the proposed site for the Southampton New Arts Complex on Monday 22 October. Hoardings are being erected around the site as part of these works, which are expected to take 2 months.

It is planned that the new development will comprise 29 apartments, 6 retail/restaurant units and a new arts complex, including a contemporary art gallery (John Hansard Gallery), a media/film facility (City Eye), plus performing arts facilities including 2 auditoria, dance studio and education spaces.
