Alex is the Pro Vice-Chancellor (Education) at the University of Southampton, where he also studied as an undergraduate. His responsibilities relate to all activities within the Education portfolio – in particular, leading on the enhancement of the student experience and the development and delivery of the education strategy. Before joining Southampton in 1999, Alex taught at the Pennsylvania State University, Trinity University, San Antonio and the University of St Andrews.
