FestivAll announces first acts

A new one-day festival is coming to Southampton's Mayflower Park on July 29 2017. FestivALL has been designed for people of all ages and will showcase a diverse mix of music including some of the city's best unsigned acts as well as more household names - which will be announced next week when the early bird tickets are available for purchase. Acts already announced include Alesha Dixon and The Hoosiers.

Southampton born Radio One DJ, Scott Mills will host the whole event which expects to attract an attendance of more than 10,000. As well as musical entertainment there will be a comedy tent where the likes of Tom Deacon and And Stewart Francis will have attendees sniggering.

Special VIP tickets that will allow attendees an elevated view of the whole site, will also be available for purchase. There will be food and drink stalls throughout the day and evening.

Children can also enjoy the day in the "TinyFest" tent, which promises "a big day out for little people". The tent's entertainment ranges from face paint and petting zoo to a Little Mix tribute band. Nine time Guinness World Records champions Bubble Inc will be performing their world renown bubble show in the tent.

Mayflower Park has previously played host to Fake Fest and the city's largest firework display in autumn, however this will be the largest live event that the park has held in recent times.

The festival's charity partner, The Saints Foundation, will be hosting a 'Legends Penalty Shoot Out’ alongside the Saints Academy where children can take on some of most famous faces of Southampton Football club.

A spokesperson for the Saints Foundation said: "Saints Foundation is delighted to be working with FestivAll, a welcome and exciting addition to Southampton’s event calendar. We look forward to meeting lots of people from across the region at this unique event."

The festival will be accessible to able and disabled attendees as well as children in pushchairs.

A spokesperson for FestivAll said: "We would like to see more credible events in Southampton that are a safe and enjoyable environment for the residents.

The festival will start at midday and finish at 11pm.

Tickets will be available to purchase from festiv-all.co.uk on February 24 and there will be no age restriction on the family-friendly event. Under-fives will have a standard admission price of £5 and under-twos will go free, however other ticket prices will vary depending on time of purchase.
